Symptoms are much more informative than solutions! It has been said that the best way to provide feedback is similar to visiting a doctor. Instead of going to the doctor and demanding specific treatments, you would describe your symptoms, how you're feeling, and your experiences. By doing so, the doctor can use their expertise to diagnose or guide you accordingly.

Similarly, in game development, there are always compromises to consider when it comes to ideas. Sometimes an easy solution may introduce complexities elsewhere. Other times, a proposed feature may only cater to a specific type of player, leaving others frustrated. Additionally, certain features may not align with the overall design of the game.

A significant part of our job is to understand the needs of players and then explore potential solutions by weighing the necessary tradeoffs. Often, when someone presents ideas or solutions upfront, we have to take a step back and grasp their biases and assumptions before we can even begin our work. By keeping to a symptom-before-solution approach, you help us grasp the issue you are having easier and let us better understand where you are coming from.
